DJI unveils EV50 for regional cargo logistics Date: 2026-07-09 Type: ARTICLE Deck: The VTOL aircraft pairs a 50kg payload with up to 150km of empty range, extending DJI beyond short-range heavy lift. URL: https://korthos.xyz/research/dji-unveils-ev50-for-regional-cargo-logistics DJI has unveiled the EV50, a VTOL cargo UAV built for 100km-class logistics. Specs: 50kg payload, 270L cargo bay, Up to 150km empty range and 160km/h max speed. DJI is building a cargo-drone ladder, FlyCart 100 covers the short-range heavy-lift layer, with 85kg payload and 12km flight distance under 149.9kg takeoff weight. EV50 moves into longer-range middle-mile freight; lighter payload, but fixed-wing cruise for cross-regional routes across mountains, islands, emergency corridors and industrial sites. DJI also used EV50 during its Mount Everest research campaign, reaching 8,861m during high-altitude atmospheric monitoring. This puts DJI inside the broader shift from last-mile drone delivery toward regional unmanned freight; the same category in the west that just sent Elroy Air toward the public markets and has drawn 2026 capital to cargo-UAV startups like MightyFly and Grid Aero. --- Have a robotics update Korthos should review?
