URL: https://korthos.xyz/research/mimic-brings-flux-mimic-to-industrial-dexterity Mimic Robotics is extending its full-stack approach to industrial dexterity with FLUX-mimic, a new video-action model developed with Black Forest Labs. The launch follows the unveiling last week of Mimic’s M1 dexterous hand and U1 wearable data-collection system. M1 is designed and manufactured in-house, while U1 captures human demonstrations using hand kinematics matched to the robot. Together, they give Mimic control over the hardware used for manipulation and the data collected to train it. FLUX-mimic adds the model layer. The system uses video prediction to generate robot actions across complex industrial tasks and can run locally on a single NVIDIA RTX 5090. Mimic says it is already being tested with Audi on work involving flexible components, seals, cables and vehicle assembly. On an internal soft-body kitting benchmark, Mimic reported a 95% success rate for FLUX-mimic, compared with 55% for its adapted π0.5 baseline. The benchmark remains company-reported, while the scale and status of the Audi programme have not been disclosed. The broader significance is the stack Mimic is assembling around industrial manipulation: proprietary hands, matched demonstration hardware, training data and the models used to control deployment.
