About AES Corporation
AES has developed Maximo, a tracked construction robot that lifts, aligns and installs utility-scale solar modules. Computer vision checks the panel and mounting position, while the robotic arm places the module and completes the mechanical attachment along the tracker row.
An operator interface reports progress, battery condition and operating status, and a mobile microgrid supports the robot at remote construction sites. AES has deployed Maximo across several US projects and reports nearly ten megawatts of installed solar modules, applying robotics directly to the labour-intensive build stage of its energy infrastructure.
