About Aria Insights

Aria Insights developed persistent aerial-observation systems built around tethered multirotor aircraft, ground power and data equipment, and remote fleet software. Its PARC platform could remain aloft for extended periods while carrying electro-optical, thermal and communications payloads. Continuous power through the tether supported surveillance, perimeter monitoring and temporary communications coverage without repeated battery changes.

The company was originally founded as CyPhy Works and later adopted the Aria Insights name as it shifted toward data and analytics services. Operations ended in March 2019. FLIR Systems acquired selected intellectual property and operating assets later that year, incorporating parts of the tethered-drone technology into its unmanned-systems portfolio. Aria Insights is a historical company and no longer operates independently.
