About Atlas Copco

Atlas Copco’s automated-fastening systems integrate the tightening spindle, controller, screw or nut feeding and robot-mounted tooling required to complete an assembly operation. PowerHEAD end effectors can also include machine vision, pitch adjustment, socket changing, vacuum or magnetic part handling and mechanisms designed around the product being assembled.

The company engineers the complete fastening process, coordinating tooling, feeders, control, traceability and support. A robot presents the tool to each joint, vision or mechanical guidance establishes position, the feeder supplies the fastener and the tightening controller records torque and angle. Modular PowerHEAD designs support automotive, battery and industrial assembly, while lighter LRT configurations allow selected cobots to perform tightening at torques up to 150 Nm.
