About Black-I Robotics
Black-I Robotics develops mobile machines around a heavy-lift arm rather than the smaller collaborative manipulators used on most warehouse AMRs. The platform combines an autonomous base, a six-degree-of-freedom industrial arm and mission-specific end effectors for bins, totes, cases and other large loads. Its mechanical lineage includes work originating in US Department of Defense programmes where mobile manipulation had to operate outside a fixed cell.
The robot can travel to a work area, identify the target and perform picking, placing, palletising or material-transfer tasks without permanently anchoring an arm at every station. Multimodal tooling and perception are configured around the customer’s objects and workflow, while the mobile base extends the arm across multiple locations. Black-I demonstrated this architecture in a 2025 robotic-picking challenge and markets the Fullscope Mobile Heavy Lift Arm for manufacturing, logistics and field operations that require both reach and substantial payload handling.
