About Dentronic
Dentronic is developing Dexor as a chairside robotic assistant that holds and positions dental instruments during treatment. The arm is intended to perform repetitive functions such as suction, cheek or tongue retraction and maintaining access to the treatment area. Perception and force-aware control must keep the instrument aligned while the patient and clinician move, without obstructing the dentist’s working space.
A clinician selects or supervises the required assistance behaviour while retaining responsibility for the procedure. Dexor’s role is to replace the second pair of hands needed to maintain suction or tissue position, allowing a dentist or hygienist to complete selected workflows with less dependence on continuous chairside support. Dentronic is building the robot, control software and clinical interface as one system and is in product development and clinical validation before broad commercial deployment.
