About Eastern Gear
Eastern Gear’s globoid worm reducer wraps the worm wheel around the worm over a wider contact area than a conventional cylindrical worm set. This distributes load across several teeth, creating compact torque transmission with low noise, limited vibration and mechanical self-locking.
The company applies the architecture to robot arms, humanoid joints and industrial positioning systems, including reducers as small as 15 millimetres. Its agreement with KH Vatec combines reducer design with precision die-casting and volume manufacturing to commercialise smaller joint drives for humanoid and compact automation systems.
