About Illumo Robotics

Illumo Robotics developed configurable logistics cells for handling products below roughly 7 kg. Its system combined computer vision, robotic manipulation and workflow software so a robot could prepare orders or move goods while adapting to changes in object presentation. The company’s deployment approach focused on reusable software and task configuration rather than designing a bespoke machine for every warehouse.

Illumo offered the technology through a robot-as-a-service model, allowing logistics operators to pilot a workflow and pay for deployed capacity instead of purchasing a complete cell upfront. The Toulouse company ran pilots and secured an e-commerce implementation as it worked toward repeatable order-preparation automation. It entered cessation of payments and was placed into judicial liquidation in April 2025. The record therefore describes a completed French warehouse-robotics venture whose main technical contribution was configurable manipulation for changing fulfilment environments.
