About Impossible Metals
Impossible Metals is developing the Eureka autonomous underwater vehicle family for selective collection of polymetallic nodules. Onboard cameras and AI identify individual nodules and visible marine organisms, while multiple robotic arms pick selected material from the seabed rather than removing a continuous layer of sediment.
Collected nodules are stored within the vehicle and returned without a conventional dredging riser or processing vessel generating a continuous midwater discharge. Eureka III is being prepared for testing in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone as the company advances vehicle endurance, manipulation and collection-rate performance toward commercial mineral operations.
