About Left Hand Robotics
Left Hand Robotics developed the RT-1000 as a compact autonomous outdoor work platform that could change between snow-clearing and turf-maintenance attachments. Its SnowBot configuration followed mapped routes while moving and dispersing snow from pavements and other pedestrian areas; the mowing configuration applied the same mobile base to repetitive grounds work. Remote monitoring allowed an operator to supervise the machine without walking behind it through the full route.
The platform targeted campuses, municipalities and commercial-property operators responsible for large outdoor areas and irregular working hours. Left Hand stated that SnowBot Pro could travel at up to 3.5 mph and perform work comparable with a sizeable manual shovelling crew, shifting labour toward setup and oversight. The Toro Company acquired the Longmont, Colorado business in March 2021, absorbing its autonomy expertise into Toro’s wider programme for smart and connected outdoor equipment. Left Hand Robotics no longer operates as an independent supplier.
