About Neuralink

The N1 implant records neural activity through 1,024 electrodes distributed across 64 flexible threads. Neuralink’s R1 surgical robot inserts those threads into targeted areas of the brain while avoiding surface blood vessels, after which the implant communicates wirelessly with an external computer.

Software decodes patterns associated with intended movement and converts them into cursor, keyboard or device-control commands. Neuralink’s PRIME study evaluates computer control for people with paralysis, while a separate feasibility study extends the interface toward controlling an assistive robotic arm.
