Saildrone’s fleet spans four vehicle classes rather than a single hull: the wind-powered Explorer for long-duration environmental missions, the Voyager for coastal mapping and maritime domain awareness, the 20-metre Surveyor for deep-ocean survey, and the faster Spectre for defence and security operations. Payloads can combine radar, electro-optical and infrared cameras, AIS, passive acoustics, multibeam sonar and meteorological sensors, with onboard processing used to classify contacts and manage data at sea.

The company delivers missions as an operated service rather than requiring customers to own and crew the vessels. Saildrone plans deployment, supervises vehicles from shore and exposes collected information through its Mission Portal and APIs, allowing government, scientific and commercial teams to task assets and integrate outputs into existing systems.
