About SoftBank
SoftBank is consolidating parts of its robotics portfolio under Robo HD, linking businesses such as SoftBank Robotics and Berkshire Grey with investments including AutoStore, Agile Robots and Skild AI. Its role is primarily capital allocation, portfolio coordination and technology integration rather than the design of one SoftBank-branded robot platform.
The group has also agreed to acquire ABB’s robotics business for $5.375 billion. The transaction would add industrial arms, controllers, software, manufacturing operations and an established global sales network, but it remains subject to regulatory approvals and was still expected to close in mid-to-late 2026 rather than being a completed acquisition.
