About Sòphia High Tech
Sòphia High Tech is an Italian aerospace and defence engineering manufacturer founded in 2013 and based in Somma Vesuviana. It takes mechanical hardware from design and simulation through prototyping, metal additive manufacturing, CNC machining, metrology, assembly, testing and qualification. Its work includes propulsion and structural components for launchers, satellites, aircraft and defence systems, with EN9100 certification and additive-manufacturing processes aligned to the ECSS-Q-ST-70-80C space-hardware standard.
The company has also extended its precision-engineering base into special-purpose robotics. For the NEFERTARI programme, Sòphia designed, manufactured, assembled, tested and integrated two ROMAN manipulators for remote inspection and maintenance of the RFX-mod2 nuclear-fusion research machine. Genenta Science completed an initial 19.9% investment in June 2026; a performance-dependent second tranche could increase its holding to 51%, so Sòphia remains a private company with Genenta as a minority investor at the review date.
