About Sora-iina
Sora-iina operates Zipline aircraft from a distribution centre at Fukue Port to move medicines and medical supplies across the Goto Islands. A pharmacy or medical institution requests a shipment, staff prepare the package and the fixed-wing drone launches on a preplanned route. At the destination it releases the parcel by parachute into a designated delivery area, eliminating the need for a runway or landing pad.
The Toyota Tsusho group venture manages the aircraft, flight operations, regulatory approvals and local logistics network. Routes can cover round trips of roughly 40 kilometres and have progressed from Level 3 beyond-visual-line-of-sight operation toward Level 4 trials without assistants positioned beneath the route. The service shortens island transport time and provides an alternative when ferries, roads or staffing make urgent delivery difficult.
