About StretchSense
StretchSense builds wearable hand-capture systems that record finger articulation together with the hand’s full six-degree-of-freedom position and orientation. Its Pro gloves use stretchable sensing and onboard tracking to capture natural manipulation without requiring optical markers on every finger. The associated software converts the measurements into structured hand poses and motion data that can be streamed into animation, simulation, teleoperation or machine-learning pipelines.
For robotics teams, the workflow begins with a person demonstrating grasps and tasks while wearing the gloves. The captured trajectories can be collected at scale, converted into datasets for imitation learning or foundation-model training, and used as a reference when validating the robot’s learned behaviour. StretchSense also supports motion-capture and XR integrations, including Vicon, Xsens MVN and Qualisys, alongside APIs for custom systems. This gives the company a role upstream of dexterous robots by supplying the human demonstration data used to train and evaluate manipulation policies.
