About T2
T2 is building hub-to-hub freight services around heavy trucks equipped with cameras, radar, LiDAR, positioning and automated-driving compute. Its current commercial Level 2 operation still uses a driver, generating route, vehicle and logistics data while carrying real customer cargo on Japanese trunk roads. The company is using those routes as the operating base for later driverless service.
For Level 4 deployment, T2 is integrating PlusAI autonomy with Japanese trucks, fleet operations and logistics hubs. The intended workflow moves trailers or loads between major facilities on defined highway corridors, with remote support and human handling at either end. Commercial Level 4 hub-to-hub service is targeted from fiscal 2027 as Japan’s logistics sector faces persistent driver shortages.
