About Vitai Robotics
ViTai Robotics develops visual-tactile sensors in which a miniature camera observes deformation in a compliant fingertip surface. Algorithms reconstruct contact geometry and estimate normal force, tangential force, torque and slip from the resulting images. Current GF-series fingertips reach spatial resolution in the ten-micrometre class and can distribute tens of thousands of sensing points across a small contact area.
The company extends the sensor into grippers, dexterous hands, hand–eye coordination algorithms and multimodal data-capture equipment. During manipulation, vision locates the object and plans the approach, while tactile feedback detects the actual contact and adjusts grip force or insertion motion. This closed loop supports fragile items, flexible materials, connector insertion and other tasks where camera-only control cannot determine whether the grasp is stable.
