About Crawler Gen 3
Crawler Gen 3 travels along the internal surface of a wind-turbine blade to capture structural and visual condition data. Its sensing package combines 3D lidar, a 360-degree 5K camera and a 61-megapixel camera focused on the root area. Adaptive lighting maintains image quality as the robot moves through the dark, tapered blade interior.
The system records travelled distance and associates imagery with positions inside the blade, allowing inspectors to locate defects and compare findings over time.
