About ARV-i Resident AUV

ARV-i is a 28-kilogram hovering AUV with eight vectored thrusters and full six-degree-of-freedom control. Stereo machine-vision cameras, a Sony 4K camera, DVL and USBL navigation support inspection missions to depths of 300 or 600 metres and ranges reaching six kilometres.

The vehicle returns autonomously to a subsea dock for wireless charging and data transfer. Operators create grid and transect missions from shore and control capture settings, altitude and sensor operation at each waypoint. The system supports recurring inspection of aquaculture sites, offshore energy equipment and scientific sites.
