About Emma

Emma travels through vineyard and specialty-crop rows carrying high-resolution imaging and environmental sensors close to individual plants. Autonomous navigation allows the robot to repeat the same routes and build plant-level records over time.

Budbreak’s software analyses the captured data for disease symptoms, yield indicators and changes in plant health, then presents location-specific findings to the grower. Repeated missions create a temporal view of the crop that can guide inspection, treatment and harvest decisions. Emma is being developed through farm deployments as a crop-specific scouting system.
