About GEN-1
GEN-1 is an embodied foundation-model system for dexterous physical tasks. It is trained on large-scale human interaction data, then adapted to a robot embodiment and task with a smaller amount of robot-specific data. The real-time multimodal policy connects visual input with tool and arm actions.
Demonstrations cover kitting, folding, packing and servicing with interchangeable end effectors. The model can recover from selected execution errors and transfer its manipulation approach across different tools, giving robot developers a common control base for varied physical workflows.
Market context
software, GEN, Robotics Foundation Model, robot manipulation and embodied-AI research, GEN-1, embodied_foundation_model, https://generalistai.com/blog/gen-1, Robotics Foundation Model, https://generalistai.com/blog/towards-machines-with-a-thousand-hands, Generalist says GEN-1 supports a broad range of end effectors and has trained across about 9,000 hand or tool variations; this is retained as model/tooling context rather than a standalone capability task.
