About HUGIN Endurance

HUGIN Endurance is a long-range autonomous underwater vehicle designed for shore-to-shore missions extending over several weeks. Pressure-tolerant lithium-ion batteries, redundant systems and KONGSBERG’s Sunstone inertial-navigation architecture support travel reaching approximately 2,200 kilometres and operation to depths of 6,000 metres.

Payloads include synthetic-aperture sonar, multibeam echo sounders, sub-bottom profilers, cameras and environmental sensors. Onboard processing evaluates collected data during the mission, and secure satellite communications provide updates when the vehicle surfaces. Applications include seabed survey, pipeline and cable inspection, critical-infrastructure monitoring and defence reconnaissance.
