About Sounder USV

Sounder is an eight-metre uncrewed surface vessel developed around hydroacoustic survey and scientific data collection. Its hull, moonpool and optional sensor gondola position sonar equipment below sources of surface noise and turbulence, improving the operating conditions for multibeam, fisheries and oceanographic instruments.

Equipment racks, deck space and standard interfaces support interchangeable payloads, communications and situational-awareness sensors. KONGSBERG mission-control software manages routes, vessel status and collected data from shore. The platform supports seabed mapping, fisheries assessment, water-column measurement and recurring scientific survey programmes.
