About ActiveIO

ActiveIO uses powered LED markers that identify themselves through coded light patterns, allowing an OptiTrack camera system to distinguish many tracked objects without relying on marker geometry alone. Integrated inertial sensing complements optical measurements and preserves responsive six-degree-of-freedom tracking during partial occlusion or fast movement.

Devices synchronise across installations containing hundreds of tracked units and support two-way communication for status and control. The architecture targets robotics, defence training and immersive environments where tools, weapons, robots or people must retain persistent identity. ActiveIO launched as OptiTrack’s next-generation active-tracking ecosystem in 2026.
