About Rho-alpha
Rho-alpha is a robotics model developed by Microsoft Research from the Phi language-model family. It processes natural-language instructions together with visual and tactile input and generates actions for two-arm manipulation. The model is intended to connect high-level task understanding with continuous physical control.
Research demonstrations cover contact-rich tasks requiring coordination between both arms and adjustment from sensory feedback. The programme is being used to study generalisation across objects, instructions and manipulation sequences. Rho-alpha remains a research model and has not been released as a commercial robot-control product.
