About WanderB-FC
WanderB-FC replaces the standard aircraft’s primary battery-only energy source with a hybrid proton-exchange-membrane hydrogen fuel-cell and backup battery. The 18-kilogram VTOL platform carries up to 1.5 kilograms and has demonstrated continuous missions beyond six hours while retaining vertical launch and fixed-wing cruise.
The fuel cell supplies steady electrical power, while the backup battery supports peak demand and emergency recovery. BlueBird states maintenance intervals reaching approximately 1,000 operating hours for the power source. Existing WanderB-VTOL customers are intended to upgrade through the fuel-cell option, extending surveillance, mapping and tactical observation without changing the complete aircraft and operating system.
