Lunar Outpost

Lunar Outpost develops robotic mobility systems and infrastructure technology for lunar and extreme-environment missions. Its rover platforms are built to carry scientific and commercial payloads, collect surface data and support future Moon operations for space agencies and private mission partners.

Market context

Lunar Outpost is one of the clearest commercial space robotics builders moving from individual lunar missions toward repeatable lunar mobility and infrastructure deployment. Its role in rover systems, Artemis LTV work, and multiple contracted missions makes it a core company for the emerging space robotics supply chain.

Notes

Lunar Outpost’s first rover reached the Moon but never deployed after its lander tipped over

Reviewed 20 Jul 2026

Lunar Outpost’s MAPP rover reached the lunar surface aboard Intuitive Machines’ Athena lander in March 2025, but the lander came to rest on its side and MAPP was not deployed. The company’s later rover programmes continue, yet the first mission provides surface-delivery heritage rather than evidence that the rover drove or completed its planned exploration work.
