About Spyce
Spyce developed automated kitchen equipment that cooked grain bowls and other meals from digitally selected recipes. Ingredients were dispensed into rotating heated woks, mixed and cooked under software control, then transferred for final preparation by restaurant staff. The system connected ordering, recipe execution and production data inside two Boston restaurants.
Sweetgreen acquired Spyce in 2021 and used the team and technology to develop its Infinite Kitchen automation system. In November 2025, Sweetgreen agreed to sell Spyce’s automation business and related assets to Wonder while retaining a continuing technology relationship. Spyce no longer operates as an independent restaurant company.
