About KANGAROO
KANGAROO is a 1.58-metre biped configurable from 14 to 40 degrees of freedom according to its arms and end effectors. Low-inertia legs, a two-axis torso and an EtherCAT control loop running at two kilohertz support dynamic walking, balance recovery and whole-body research.
Ubuntu, ROS 2 and PAL OS expose current, velocity, position, impedance and optional force-torque control. Developers receive URDF and MJCF models and tools for MuJoCo, reinforcement learning, imitation learning and motion retargeting. Four RGB-D cameras and configurable arms turn the platform from a locomotion testbed into a mobile manipulation system.
