About Twister
Twister is a backpack-portable electric VTOL aircraft for short-range tactical reconnaissance. It takes off vertically and transitions to efficient wing-borne flight, avoiding a launcher or runway while providing greater endurance than a conventional small quadcopter. The system weighs about 4 kg, has endurance of up to 90 minutes and operates at distances of up to approximately 15 km.
A field team can assemble and launch the aircraft in about two minutes. The payload combines electro-optical sensing with an optional WASP acoustic package for detecting and classifying sound sources. Live imagery and mission information are sent to the operator through the ground-control system, while autonomous flight handles the planned route. Twister is designed for distributed units requiring a reusable ISR aircraft that can be carried and operated without dedicated launch infrastructure.
