About RoboCraftsman
RoboCraftsman uses two seven-axis industrial arms mounted on linear rails inside a containerised manufacturing cell. The robots form sheet metal incrementally from digital geometry, scan the evolving surface and compare it with the target model before correcting the tool path. The same cell can handle sheet loading, trimming, drilling and finishing.
Parts can reach approximately 12 feet in length and five feet in depth without requiring a dedicated stamping die for each design. Digital process records connect source geometry, scans and manufacturing steps to the finished component. Machina Labs has applied the system to low-volume production and aircraft-sustainment work where replacement tooling or original manufacturing infrastructure is unavailable.
