About BarrettHand BH8-282
BH8-282 uses three articulated fingers arranged around a compact palm. Two fingers can rotate around the palm to change grasp geometry, while mechanically coupled finger joints conform around irregular objects with fewer motors than a fully actuated hand. Eight controllable axes govern finger spread, closure and joint motion inside a self-contained 980-gram assembly.
The hand communicates through serial or CAN bus interfaces and mounts on Barrett’s WAM arm or other compatible manipulators. Optional fingertip torque, tactile, palm and force-torque sensors extend the platform for contact-rich research. BH8-282 is an established commercial research and automation grasper used for programmable object handling, manipulation studies and flexible workcells.
