A02 is Feagine Robotics' 4-DoF desktop biomimetic manipulator for compliant-robotics research. Its two flexible segments provide a 31 cm arm length, 400 g maximum payload and 0.78 m/s end-effector speed, with ROS, GUI, MuJoCo and SAPIEN support.
About
A02 extends Feagine's tendon-driven architecture to two flexible segments and four degrees of freedom. The 1.5 kg desktop system provides a 31 cm arm length and carries up to 400 g, giving laboratories a larger compliant workspace than A01 while remaining compact enough for benchtop experimentation. Published maximum end-effector speed is 0.78 m/s.
Researchers can operate A02 through Feagine's graphical interface or program it through ROS 1, ROS 2, Python and C++. The control stack exposes joint-space, Cartesian and low-level tendon commands, while MuJoCo and SAPIEN environments support simulation and algorithm development before transfer to hardware. It launched in August 2026 as the general research model in the Feagine Edu series.
