Cobot Cutter is Hirebotics' mobile collaborative plasma-cutting system for high-mix fabrication. A Universal Robots arm, Hypertherm plasma source and Beacon controls let operators teach repeatable three-dimensional cut paths without CAD/CAM programming.

Cobot Cutter combines a Universal Robots UR8 Long arm, Hypertherm Powermax85 SYNC source, robotic torch and Hirebotics' Beacon software on a mobile workstation. The 1,750 mm-reach cobot can follow paths on flat plate, pipes, tank heads and other formed components that do not suit a conventional two-dimensional plasma table.
Operators hand-guide the torch and use the Smart Puck to record cut geometry, then save and recall jobs from a phone or tablet. Beacon controls standoff, torch angle and travel speed for repeatable edges in conductive materials including steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Alternative Powermax sources extend the package for different thickness requirements.
