KR FORTEC is KUKA’s six-axis heavy-duty industrial robot family for handling, assembly, welding and other production tasks. Its modular range spans 240–500 kg payloads and reaches up to 3,750 mm, with standard and foundry variants.
About
KR FORTEC is KUKA's six-axis heavy-duty industrial robot family for handling large workpieces in automotive and general manufacturing. Current variants cover payloads from 240 to 500 kg and reaches from 2.8 to 3.75 metres, supporting handling, assembly, palletising, machining, inspection, welding, coating and adhesive application.
The current generation uses a modular design and shares components with the KR QUANTEC and KR FORTEC ultra families, reducing spare-parts requirements across mixed KUKA installations. Models provide IP65 protection with IP67 wrist protection where specified, while foundry variants are configured for casting and other harsh production environments. Controller support includes KR C5 and KR C5-2 depending on the variant, and optional linear axes can extend the working envelope.
KUKA describes the current generation as commercially available and explicitly positions it between KR QUANTEC and KR FORTEC ultra.
