Amazon agrees to acquire warehouse robotics company Kiva Systems

  • Amazon announced an agreement to acquire Kiva Systems, a developer of material handling technology.
  • The company said the deal was valued at approximately $775 million in cash, subject to adjustments and closing conditions.
  • Amazon said Kiva's technology would support fulfillment-center productivity by bringing products directly to employees for pick, pack, and stow work.

Amazon operates one of the world's largest robotics-enabled logistics networks, integrating mobile robots, picking systems and warehouse automation across fulfillment, sorting and last-mile operations.
