ZenaDrone begins U.S. field testing of IQ Aqua underwater drone

ZenaTech said its ZenaDrone subsidiary began field testing the IQ Aqua autonomous underwater vehicle near Pensacola, Florida, after unveiling the prototype earlier in 2026.

  • The test program includes controlled aquatic environments and open water while evaluating stability, maneuverability, sensors and autonomous navigation.
  • IQ Aqua is aimed at underwater mine detection, ISR, port and harbor threat detection, and maritime infrastructure inspection.
  • ZenaDrone is also preparing a Version 2 build in the UAE with a different propulsion system intended to improve speed and operational range.

ZenaDrone develops autonomous UAV platforms under ZenaTech, including ZenaDrone 1000, IQ Square, IQ Nano and newer defense-focused systems. Its products target inspection, mapping, surveillance, agriculture, logistics and defence workflows.
