dSPACE and MathWorks integrate RoadRunner with ASM OpenX

Jan 28, 2026 · Partnership · dSPACE · Simulation

dSPACE and MathWorks expanded their partnership so road models created in RoadRunner can be used directly in ASM OpenX, reducing conversion and rework in autonomous-driving traffic simulation workflows.

  • The integration uses OpenDRIVE and OpenSCENARIO standards.
  • RoadRunner road models can feed directly into ASM OpenX.
  • The companies positioned the work as an efficiency and reliability improvement for automated-driving development.

dSPACE develops hardware and software for simulation, validation and data-driven development of electronic and autonomous systems. Its toolchain covers sensor-data logging and annotation, scenario generation, model-, software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing, cloud simulation and real-time control. Headquartered in Paderborn, the company serves automotive, aerospace, agriculture and industrial-automation teams developing connected, autonomous and electric machines.
