Jan 24, 2025 · Contract Award · Firestorm Labs · Defense

Firestorm Labs announced a five-year, $100 million U.S. Air Force IDIQ contract for additively manufactured UAS development, procurement and autonomy work.

  • The IDIQ can support development or procurement of additively manufactured unmanned aircraft and next-generation autonomy capabilities.
  • The five-year vehicle allows multiple task and delivery orders, with individual task-order performance periods of up to 24 months after the final order.
  • Firestorm positioned the award around modular UAS and xCell production for contested-logistics environments.

Firestorm Labs develops modular uncrewed aircraft and expeditionary manufacturing cells that can produce airframes near the point of need. Its xCell production system combines additive manufacturing, digital designs and mission-adaptable payload integration for Group 1–3 aircraft including the Tempest and Squall. Founded in San Diego in 2022, the company raised a $47 million Series A in 2025 to expand factories, aircraft development and deployable production.
