US Digital expands L2 low-profile encoder to 5,000 CPR
US Digital expanded the resolution range of its L2 low-profile motor encoder for compact robotics and motion-control assemblies while retaining the same 0.398-inch package height.
Evidence notes
- The updated range reaches 5,000 cycles per revolution, equivalent to 20,000 pulses per revolution with quadrature.
- The encoder supports 12 shaft sizes from 2–8 mm and 1/8–5/16 inch and mounts to NEMA 17 through NEMA 34 and larger motors.
- Lower resolutions continue to use the EM1 optical module while higher-resolution variants use the EM2; the expanded range became available for worldwide shipping immediately.
Company context
US Digital designs and manufactures optical and magnetic encoders, inclinometers, interfaces and motion-control products at its vertically integrated facility in Vancouver, Washington. Founded in 1980, the company handles product engineering, machining, electronics assembly and calibration in-house.
