Apr 15, 2026 · Acquisition · Molex · Electronics

Molex agreed to acquire Teramount, adding the Israel-based company's detachable passive-alignment fiber-to-chip technology and Jerusalem engineering center to its optical interconnect portfolio.

Teramount's TeraVERSE platform gives Molex a field-serviceable optical interface intended to make co-packaged optics easier to manufacture at scale for AI, cloud and 5G infrastructure.

  • The announced transaction covers Teramount and its Israel-based design center.
  • Teramount TeraVERSE uses passive alignment to create a detachable, field-serviceable interface between fiber and silicon-photonics chips.
  • Molex positioned the acquisition around scalable co-packaged optics for AI, cloud and 5G infrastructure.

Molex is a global electronics and interconnect supplier under Koch Industries. For robotics, it supplies connectors, cable assemblies, antennas, industrial connectivity and electronics-manufacturing capabilities that matter for dense sensor, compute, power and actuator packaging.
