Sep 2, 2025 · Product Launch · Dexcel Robotics · End Effectors

Dexcel Robotics introduced Apex Hand, its first anthropomorphic five-finger robot hand for embodied-intelligence research and real-world manipulation.

  • Apex Hand combines 21 degrees of freedom, including 16 actuated joints, with backdrivable joints and sub-millimetre fingertip repeatability.
  • Launch demonstrations included one-handed smartphone operation, pulse sensing and mouse control alongside precise object manipulation.
  • The hand integrates optional soft electronic-skin sensing across the fingertips, inner joints and palm with a 1,000 Hz sampling rate.

Dexcel Robotics develops the Apex Hand, a sensor-rich dexterous robotic hand for embodied-AI research and manipulation applications. Its integrated hardware combines multiple articulated degrees of freedom with tactile and proprioceptive feedback, giving robot developers a platform for learning grasping and in-hand skills.
