MetalCraft completes eight-boat U.S. Navy tow-boat contract

MetalCraft Marine completed an eight-vessel Kingston 30 tow-boat production run for U.S. Navy spill-recovery, support and salvage operations.

  • The final Kingston 30 in the eight-boat contract departed MetalCraft Marine's U.S. facility for Virginia.
  • The vessels were commissioned to support Navy spill recovery, vessel support and salvage missions worldwide.
  • The aluminum tow boats paired an Iveco NEF 450 engine with an UltraJet 305HT waterjet and achieved 3,800 pounds of bollard pull in sea trials.

MetalCraft Marine is a Canadian-U.S. builder of custom aluminum vessels for government and commercial fleets. It supplies crewed and optionally unmanned patrol craft, fireboats, rescue boats and autonomous surface-vessel prototypes.
