UK MOD advances Anduril team with GKN Aerospace into Project NYX

GKN Aerospace joined Anduril UK’s down-selected team for the next phase of the British Army’s Project NYX autonomous collaborative rotorcraft programme.

  • The planned platforms are intended to operate alongside Apache helicopters to add combat mass, extend reach and improve survivability in contested environments.
  • GKN’s role covers lightweight aerostructures, advanced manufacturing and production scaling from its Isle of Wight base, which employs around 1,000 people.
  • The programme could add up to 100 skilled Isle of Wight jobs as it progresses, with Archer and other British technology partners also participating.
