Kratos and GE win USAF JASSM EMD contract for F143 engine
The U.S. Air Force awarded Kratos and GE Aerospace an engineering, manufacturing and development contract for the F143-ZZ-100 as a second-source JASSM engine.

Evidence notes
- The GEK800 received the U.S. military designation F143-ZZ-100 and was selected as a second-source propulsion system for JASSM.
- The 800-pound-thrust turbofan is also intended for cruise missiles, collaborative combat aircraft and other uncrewed aerial vehicles.
- The joint team reported more than 50 ground-test starts and successful altitude testing completed in 2025.
