About
Advanced Smart Mobility, also known as AS Mobi, develops autonomous-driving systems for buses and commercial vehicles. The University of Tokyo spinout combines driving software, sensors, control hardware and vehicle integration, then supports mapping, public-road validation and field trials with transport operators and local authorities.
The company reports demonstration work across more than 20 Japanese prefectures and involvement in Level 4 public-transport programmes. Its August 2026 field-trial integration of Cerence Emergency Vehicle Detection adds exterior-audio perception so autonomous buses can recognize approaching ambulances, police vehicles and fire engines and respond appropriately.
