Marsi Bionics was created in 2013 as a spin-off from Spain’s Centre for Automation and Robotics, a joint CSIC and Polytechnic University of Madrid institute. Co-founder and chief executive Elena García Armada translated research on compliant walking robots into medical devices for children and people with neurological mobility impairments.
The company’s systems use ARES variable-stiffness actuators to adapt joint assistance to the wearer. ATLAS 2030 is a paediatric clinical exoskeleton, EXPLORER MB extends the technology toward personal use for children and adolescents, and MAK Active Knee provides a robotic knee-orthosis format. Marsi’s work spans device engineering, clinical research, certification and therapist support; the profile therefore represents a medical-robotics manufacturer rather than a general wearable or consumer-mobility brand.
