About Photoneo

Photoneo’s hardware uses parallel structured-light techniques to capture high-resolution 3D data, including scenes where objects or the sensor are moving. MotionCam-3D serves dynamic robot cells, while PhoXi and Alpha scanners cover static inspection and handling tasks. The resulting point clouds feed Locator Studio for six-degree object-pose estimation or Bin Picking Studio, which adds grasp selection, robot-camera calibration, trajectory generation and collision checking.

System integrators combine those sensors and applications with industrial arms for bin picking, machine loading, depalletisation, delayering and inspection. Generic robot interfaces and integrations such as ABB’s OmniCore environment shorten cell commissioning while preserving a choice of robot and gripper. Zebra Technologies completed its acquisition of Photoneo in March 2025, and the Photoneo brand now operates inside Zebra’s machine-vision portfolio, placing its 3D sensing and robot-guidance software within a wider industrial automation business.
